Colin Kennedy Donovan--radical queer, trans, and disability writer and activist--
is now booking for future Incisive Irreverent Smartypants Sarcastic Disability Tours.
Colin Kennedy Donovan is an anti-racist Irish/English/German/Spanish "white" physically disabled genderqueer trans activist, performer, educator, and writer.
Combining a sharp sense of humor with an astute analysis of politics and culture, Colin is the creator/performer of the Handi-Capable-Bi-Queer-Slut of the World (the in-your-face disabled advice columnist), the author of the radical disability zine Fuck Pity, and the co-editor of Scars Tell Stories: A Queer and Trans (Dis)ability Zine.
Colin is a facilitator of Augusto Boal's Theatre of the Oppressed (TO). Developed for non-actors, TO and its adapted cousin, Theater of the Oppressor (TOP), take workshops to a more visceral level by bridging the space between intellectual theory
and the body. Colin's TO and TOP workshops include "Anti-Racism for White Folks," "Ableism 101," "Confronting Internalized Ableism," and "Is that Gender in Your Pocket, or are You Just Happy to See Me?" Colin also develops interactive workshops based on specific community and organizational needs.
Colin has performed and facilitated workshops at venues throughout North America, including Michigan State University, University of Vermont, Simon Fraser University, University of Oregon, Homo a Gogo, Bumbershoot, and the Seattle Poetry Festival.
